Latest innovation: Skate Navigator
While riding my inline skates across the typical Dutch landscapes of flat meadows and neatly organized urban areas I was always looking for the best roads whereon skating is most fun and where I can make the most speed with least effort. And also important: where my wheels and skates don’t wear off as quickly as they would on poorly maintained or ill prepared roads. Although Holland has a great reputation of good cycling paths, as a skater you still come across lots of roads that have disappointing surfaces in terms of quality. Like any other skater, I’d rather take detours on smooth surface than finding the shortest route to my planned destination.
Being very satisfied with my sports app I thought: maybe there’s a special mobile app that focusses mainly on skaters by offering information about the quality of the roads, being displayed and pointed out on a map. But using different search words couldn’t help me find a mobile app that could satisfy my specific needs as a skater.
The idea of having a mobile app that offers relevant information about the quality and steepness (uphill or downhill) continued to grow on me. My wish for an app like this became stronger and stronger and I was fantasizing about what kind of features an app for skaters should offer and how that would enhance the entire skating experience.
Eventually, I put everything about this idea on paper and I worked it out to a concrete plan. After discussing it with many friends and different skaters I finally approached a developer that I knew could help me develop my desired mobile app.
And now, in the summer of 2017, we proudly present to you: the Skate Navigator mobile app, available in the App Store by July 2017!
